1. Introduction to Trick Training

This fun and fast paced class will have your dog learning a variety of impressive tricks. The basics of trick training will be taught and students will work on novice and intermediate level tricks. A solid foundation will be laid for future complex tricks as well.
Dogs will work on tricks appropriate to their build, age and athletic ability so this class is open all ages of dogs. Some of the tricks covered will include, but are not limited to, the following:
The usual favourites: roll over; shake a paw; crawl; speak; spin and twist; two paws up; play dead
Eye catching tricks: moonwalking (crawling backwards); hold objects in mouth; paws on handlers feet and walk together
Target Tricks: pressing an "easy" button with paw; cross paws; walking with a limp; pounce like a cat; high five and wave; opening/closing a door; turning light switches on/off; unroll a carpet; directed nose target; go to a distant mark; get up on a pedestal and others
Freestyle tricks: weave walking through legs; bow; standing on hind legs and others; go around things
Balancing tricks: standing on handler's back; standing on handler's feet; walking a balance beam; beg or sit pretty
Students will also be able to select a specific trick of their choosing to work on in addition to the class curriculum.
At the conclusion of the course students will have the option, if they are interested, to earn titles through the Do More With Your Dog program.
